Yes nearer my God to thee, I can remember in the days gone by, when we would gather around an old fashion alter. When God's people with a heart full of love praying for one another, And a lost and dying world going down in despair lost without a Savior. But seemingly it's not that way anymore. Satan has come into our lives, and with his evil spirit and his persuasion has divided our churches. He's set neighbor against neighbor, and with all the troubles we have to admit there has been an awful change. But deep down in my heart words that still linger, you'll find it written in God's Holy Bible my Lord doesn't change. He's the same yesterday, today, and forever more if we'd only be honest and say Lord if there's been a change it's me. Recitation 2. Why I can remember in my own home church when the spirit of the Lord would be so strong people praying shouting and testifying and souls a being saved. There were times when our pastor wouldn't even get to preach. But with an humble spirit and as the tears would fall from his cheeks we'd hear him say now mind the Lord, Christians. Jesus is here now and with you doing like you feel He'd have you to do I believe we'll see many souls born into the kingdom. But we say we can't have services like that any more them days have all come and gone but deep down in my heart words. That still linger you'll find it written in God's Holy Bible my Lord doesn't change. He's the same yesterday, today, and forever more so let's. Be honest with Him and say Lord if there's been any change it's me. |
