The Finish Line

The Finish Line

1.
Since I started this race to Heaven's city
I've oft been weighted down
by the things this world affords
but I can't allow myself to be distracted
Or forget this place I'm living
is not my home or my reward

Chorus
I've set my sights and affections on the things above
where there is only joy, peace, happiness, and love
There's no more sin anf strife I'll have eternal life
and God himself is the light
Well don't get me wrong I like living down here
but when time comes for leaving
I won't shed a tear
and when He calls for me don't blink or you won't see
me cross the finish line of home

2.
I'm pressing forward to the prize of higher calling
always looking for the one
Who gives the grace for me to run
won't be no second, third, fourth or fifth place finish
When I step through Heavens gate
I'll Hear him say my child you've won
