The Light

Verse 1

He was seated at the corner
Of a busy city street
A light shone from his lantern
That was placed beside his feet
He said, "my friend, I'm just a blind man
And this light I cannot see
But I carry it so others
Might not stumble over me."

Verse 2

Like the blind man and his lantern
I go back in memory
To the times I've cried, "Why me, Lord?"
When the light I could not see
With all my yesterdays behind me
This my prayer shall ever be
Let my light shine bright enough to lead
Some lost soul to Calvary

Chorus

Lord, let my light be like a beacon
Shining out across the sea
Like a lighthouse on a hillside
Pointing souls to Calvary
Let your light shine down from Heaven
Through the window of my soul
Bright enough to light
Someone's darkest night
And help them find their way back home.
