The Maker Of The Cross

Verse 1

I can still hear the hammer as it notched out
the timber from the old rugged tree.
Two pieces were laid out forming an altar where
the offering would be.
Between earth and Heaven Jesus was nailed there
for this world so lost.
As I look at my hands then glance in the mirror,
I see the maker of the cross.

Chorus

The blood formed a river that ran from that hill
and it still flows today.
Breaking down barriers reaching all nations and
taking sin away.
He was an innocent victim treated so cruel, He
died for the lost.
When I look at my hands, and glance in the
mirror; I see the maker of the cross.

Verse 2

I can still sense the sorrow of his mother and
loved ones that stood in the crowd.
They cringe by the last words they heard "it is
finished," he cried aloud.
His mission now over, the sinless must die for
the guilty and lost.
As I look at my hands and glance in the mirror,
I see the maker of the cross.
