Most probably if you attended school
your assignment for someone, or something so cool
would be a time line describing events
beginning or ending - and important contents
A linear line marking the beginning or collapse
of person, nation, then the end to lapse
we cannot see - only God
so infinite, so unhuman, we're awed
On that line which you created
you can look behind to discover the life
whether joyous or possibly ill fated
or sparse and hungrily rife
Such is the arrow of time
we can look back, but not move back
no 'do-overs' no matter how begrime
no way to get back the slack
Such is the opposite on the arrow you see
one can move forward - actually no way to stop
but to see tomorrow even on bended knee
in place is a very permanent block
We can look back, but there we cannot go
we cannot look past today but there we will go
bound by Gods' Word which cannot lie
on a date to meet Him - on the Arrow Of Time
