Boomerang

A novelty of the early 60's about a lad, Aboriginal
whose ability at success in boomerang return, dismal
Became a disgrace, his pride gone, losing even his image
and said goodbye to friends, family and village

And so began his lifelong quest
going on through life without a clue
as to how to get his 'rang to do its best
never realizing he'd never even threw

And we sometimes today consider the success we've had
comparing ourselves with others, Gods' Word says; is bad
Each will harvest the wages of their own doing
heaven or hell, your destiny pursuing

Being human, we seek recognition for successes
but seem to forget all the failures and excesses
It matters so little what we possess or own
our harvest will be in kind to what we've sown

But the problem is not with nature as some blame
for success comes not to those who in mind are so lame
that to put forth an effort is something never considered
forgetting the return of nature is always delivered

You can rest on the Rock of the Word securely
reaping what you sow is promised by His Word surely
If you want a return on a life of great success
give your life to Him, He will return for you what's best

But sow you must, making your calling and election sure
your 'rang thrust for both will come back - that's insured
Cast your bread upon the waters, it will return unto you
the same with the seed you've sown, the life you blew

Your harvest will always return more than what you've sown
after a life with Him, or for sin you've blown
More than you could have ever known
for to get your boomerang to come back, it must be thrown
