Christmas

I remember Christmas as a little boy
enamored with the possibility of toys
things my folks could not afford
but, being poor we just ignored

The memories of cutting our own trees
the lights, the mystery of a Saint Nick
bringing things us kids to please
getting down the chimney was quite a trick

Now with grandhildren of my own
remembering memories of children now grown
raising them with the lies my parents taught me
causes much distress in my heart you see

For "Jesus was born on this day"
they were taught to say
but in my heart I knew this was wrong
I cherished the love of family so long

'Tis not the family and laughter and cheer
but the whole Catholic equation that's queer
for Christ was born to save us from sin
but it's the way of paganism we languish in

Forgetting Who the 'holiday' is about
seeing whole churches loudly flout
everything as heresay and never check out
its origin, the real meaning of what its about

I'm thinkin' bout Jesus they defend
all the time using pagan trends
worshipping "God" with satanic blends
never contemplating the hellish dividends

Icons, traditions, statues and more
they feed their children this ungodly lore
then wonder why their kids go astray
instead of God, choosing the worldly ways
