I stood one night at the foot of a bridge
I was all alone, fearing the high ridge
The bridge was long and high, I was afraid I'd trip
How could I make it, even the first step?
The gorge was deep and impossible it seemed
I struggled for courage, of such immensity I'd never seen
To start this, to some powerful force I must be teamed
To complete this, I merely must be redeemed
On this side I have surroundings familiar
on the other side seemingly only whispers
Just a glimpse from the Word we find
with it, we won't walk this road blind
If my desire is to be realized and experienced
I must step out in faith in the face of the mysterious
For in God dwelleth no fear of deaths shadow
Eternal life to me will He bestow
So by faith that first step I take
He leads, and guides, and steadies my gait
In Him, can no strong winds ever sway
by my side, He will ever stay
No gulf too wide, no river too deep
no demon too big, no mountain too steep
No sin too vile, no heart too tough
Success is ours, for God is enough
