What will it be like looking into that face
will He still have the scars from that day?
When I fall prostrate at His feet, unable for the blaze
to look upon Him now as Judge; not of Grace
Him, Who had not flesh nor bones
took on flesh to become the Lamb
With purer even than Adams' blood
Sovereign God, took on the flesh of man
Him, upon Whom no human could look
proved before Abraham was, I AM
How could that be? My understanding forsook
Him, now mortal flesh, but pure; not like fallen man
His healings and works books can not contain
nor calculate or retain; for over all He reigns
How that could be, please explain!
'tis no secret, His Glory proclaimed
Jesus was none other than the Almighty One
for in heaven, on the throne is only One
Hear O Isreal, the Lord our God is One
All through the Word, it teaches, there's only One!
Imagine if you can, the countenance John saw
bright it was; as the sun shineth in his strength.
With fear and trembling wrote the things he recalled
visibly shaking in his body, deep the rent
We'll not stand before Him, but lay on the floor
unable to look on Him, Who is the Door
We'll lay as dead; unable to speak
paralyzed with fear and dread, no entreat
At His feet, unable to move, having not the fare
completely prostrate, trembling at his glare
Knowing we lived as though no care
that to live without Him was a dare
Of the enemy who knows of the only God, and trembles
listen to his whisper and his lies and you'll stumble
For the enemy plants in your soul devious whim
But one day, saint and sinner alike, will stand Facing Him
