If I could impose but a moment of your time
to pose the question with this short line:
"what is it that comes to your mind
when I mention the 'Thin Blue Line?' "
What stands as the very last vestige
in the face against crime with prestige
in inclement weather and unwelcome environ
announced with blazing lights and screaming siren

To stand, serve and protect
and do much more than we expect
but treated with un-deserved disrespect
at the same time, responding with respect
It's those heroes who wear the blue
Police, Sheriff, Rangers and Marshalls too
continually defend with integrity and honor
our rights and safety against crimes horror
I stand and salute sometimes with tears
for your part in protection each and every day
throughout the service of years
as you protect the good ol' U S of A
There's no doubt the love of America in your blood
as you protect each and every neighborhood
it's this integrity and service we salute in you
men and women of valor, all colors, brothers in blue
You see, heroes don't wear capes of fantasy lore
but it's those who keep the oath they swore
of standing in the gap for me and for you
whose blood flows red, white and blue
. . . Our Heroes In Blue
