Oh! What a dreadfully awful scene
as the blood dripped to the sand
all stood 'round, their senses keen
they had just crucified this man
Of a sudden great quakes rumbled the earth
amid the roar, demons danced in mirth
of this event none could never determine the worth
the sky was dark; was this man of virgin birth?
Was He just a simple carpenters son, a man?
Or was He the realization of prophetic demand
He certainly was no king, Herod did remand
those that day had no idea: He . . . was the Lamb
Justice for sin demanded blood pure and clean
but none found on earth with blood pristine
God as a Spirit could hardly stand between
with no flesh, bone nor blood to glean
The only solution was as the scripture read
"Your God shall come!' it plainly said
The lame shall leap, eyes opened of the blind
but the doubters declined and loudly opined
Deaf ears hear, lame leap, the dumb talk
all the while the nay sayers did balk
at His goodness, blessings and His claim
"I do all this in my Fathers' Name"
Taking up stones with which to kill
all the scripture He surely did fullfill
when He said "before Abraham was, I AM!"
they, never understanding: He was the Lamb
Pure flesh with which God Himself appareled
from the start, His life unjustly imperiled
human, flesh, bone and blood, pure and clean
He came to die - in our stead - plainly seen
Dead and buried three days He arose
mighty, victorious, His body glows
with the magnificence only God knows
amidst thorns more beautiful than the rose
His sacrifice of blood even now still flows
an unending and cleansing trove
through which Salvation comes to same
who arise and believe, then baptized in His Name
Who but Him could claim and prove?
Us the scriptures to search inherently behoove
In the safety of Him the Rock, the man
lived the Creator Himself; the - I AM . . . The Lamb
