How easy it is to err and sway
as we go along our merry way
when this day we haven't prayed
our words, our lives, and actions weighed

We live our lives in self-importance
little caring who's life we lance
by selfless, uncaring circumstance
posing a daily lie - in self romance

But oh, if we would spend a few moments
and reflect back on our days performance
we could see the caused mis-fortune
of those we leave by the way - broken

We would then for our actions repent
and prohibit much wasted effort spent
in dragging an ever increasing load
of unkind words and actions we sewed

And after we repent, our life for Him . . . resume
victorious o'er challenges that loom
with His help deftly sidestep the doom
with which the enemy attempts to consume

So thru this little thought I can easily see
His love and mercy protecting me
when with Him I commune
as I Reflect, Repent and Resume.
