We see them always in every church
those who seem constantly in the lurch
up and down, in and out, strong and weak
forward and back, in the valley and on the peak
About as stable as soft mud under water
come to church when and if they want
owning no responsibility, merely a squatter
seemingly fat in the spirit but actually gaunt
Man can't live by bread alone
it takes vegetables and meat
their stability commonly shown
their lives empty - never complete
Then they ask "is that all there is?
when they don't go all out and sell out
leaving behind the promises: His
seeking instead for showy clout
Being solid in faith takes time and effort
seeking His strength, wading in deep water
holding on to His way and Will forever
stability and cleanliness only through sins blotter
But going round and round, back and forth
Holy Ghost boaster - then be worldly livin'
pointing south, then back to the north
will only result in a Roller Coaster Christian
