We in our lowly state of humanity
mos'times are blind to the many blessings
from God as something positive
and view them as negative

Each and every human on earth
each in their own way
understanding not their worth
are blessed again and again each day

Most of the time we resent the tears
and see them as pointing out our fears
like a yoke we feel the uncertainty
and attempt to shake off humanity

But if we could only get a glimpse
look past the curtains to heavenly realms
and see that those tears have washed
my eyes and my issues have quashed

Yeah, sometimes we need the tears
they show how He kept thru the years
how divine guidance He afforded
and the eternal prize He awarded

When He purchased with His blood
washing, cleansing, purifying thru crimson flood
He washes our eyes with tears
to see His glory instead of our fears
