At a graduation ceremony
sitting amidst all colours
and not just a few homies
watching the grads enjoy their valor
Distressed as I looked down the long line
at the modern dress - quite the trend
short, scant, sheer, revealing
they had no clue as to how embarrassing
But there was one who stood out
shining bright among the crowd
one could easily tell she was different
shown as a real Christian - volume loud
Long beautiful dress; holy
bright shining face
clean, not hidden by makeup; a trophy
allowing to shine thru; Gods' Grace
Her actions, demeanor, stance all pure
plainly visible, demure
what she was advertising showed clear
of Salvation, a Savior she held dear
Shining so bright in a world so dark
reminds one of Noah and the ark
telling, showing, being an example
to all those around in a shamble
One in a group of a hundred plus
among all, only one, displaying Gods' trust
One who made proud - mother and dad
the only one - Standout Grad
(Written for Audrey, my first grandchild at her ROC graduation)
