The vague and tenuous hope that God is too kind to punish the ungodly has become a deadly opiate for the consciences of millions . . . A.W. Tozer

In the Bible we read of Gods' Grace divine
where the blood He shed all sin covers, even mine
but through the years I've uncovered a fact so true
there are sins the blood won't wash, and not just a few
How could one make such a claim so rash
as to say blood won't cover, and be so brash
it's true I maintain, and I can prove Grace won't cover
but it's only by His Grace we can recover
So, what is it you say that could prevent Gods' power
that power to create a universe untold by human tongue
what could turn even God - what could be so sour
it's easy to see, and it's easy to fix, easily sung
It's nothing less than the sin, habit, the trespass
that one will not turn loose of or destroy the want
but secretly hang on to, hoping to hide the sinful mass
hiding and making the soul so thin and gaunt
Continued shrugging off of conviction
only serves to deepen the addiction
setting ever deeper until it's seemingly disappeared
but finally, your conscious is seared
Oh! Beg God the aisles of your deepest corners search
reveal the forgotten transgresses deeply submerged
confess it, turn from it and let it go
beg forgiveness and only then will the blood atone
