In life so many people we meet
day by day, of different breed and class
They are sometimes homeless on the street
dirty, ragged, hungry and miserable - and you ask

Their situation hopeless, no direction; dire
in their eyes only darkness, no fire
filled with lonliness, weariness, poor and alone
struggling to swim in the sea of life, sinking like stone

even tho their time filled with turmoil, sickness
Happily and aptly cope with their ambiance and strife
and you are forced their situation to witness
the question auto forms: "What happened to you?"
and their answer is simply: "Jesus."

happiness abounds lighting their lives
brightly they shine in society
seemingly impervious to lifes' negative archives
in wonderment one asks: "What happened to you?"
and their answer is simply: "Jesus."
